The size was what I needed to carry laptop, papers, lunch tote, and an extra pair of shoes. The loose lining was a disappointment but was easily remedied. I removed the stiching from the bottom of the lining, turned it inside out, spray aersol adhesive to the sides of the bag and replaced the lining back to its original position, smoothing the lining to the insides of the bag. It is quite large, but perfect for me to carry my work "stuff" and could even serve as an overnight bag. I love all the pockets inside - plenty of slip pockets, a large zip pocket and a larger slip pocket. The outside zip pocket is handy for those items that you need quick access like keys or cell phone. The quality of the straps is good (I usually destroy straps so we shall see) and I like the fact that this bag included a sturdy shoulder strap that included a very sturdy clamp! Some shoulder straps just contain a flimsy clamp to attach to the bag, but this one has sturdy gold clips. The inside is lined nicely and despite some of the other comments, I don't have a problem with it being too loose.
