It really is 20 cups, and it feels solid and sturdy. The boiler is made of a heavy gauge aluminum and does not feel flimsy or weak. The globe is made of plastic, so if you plan to use this directly on a fire you may want to replace that with a glass globe. The basket and column feel sturdy, and are made of an equally heavy gauge aluminum. The column does bend at the base easier than I would like, but has not been a problem yet. A little food safe high temp epoxy (such as jb weld) will take care of that permanently should I ever decide it to be an issue. Based on what I see, I fully expect this to last a decade or more just like my previous camp percolators. Pretty amazed for the $16 that I spent. It worked great! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Way better then a stock pot. *by M***9 on March 18, 2013* My family are huge tea drinkers. I got the enamel one for my brother and this one for me. both are good at brewing tea on the stove, but mine never boils over like his. We were using an ugly old stock pot to brew tea in. I was watching westerns and i saw the kettles they used to use by the fire. Granted this is for camping but i use it on the stove. It kind of reminds me of really old milk jugs, like the big ones they use on the farm. Some people said this was too cheap or too flimsy, well it is aluminum folks duh. As long as your not trashing it around it should be fine. I use tea bags in mine but with the little basket that comes with it you can use loose tea or coffee if your electric one died. One thing i will recommend, don't fill it up past the bottom of the beak. mine got dinged during shipping but as long as i don't fill past the bottom of the beak it's fine. And those handles will get hot, so don't go grabbing it with a bare hand when it's hot. The tea will stain the inside after awhile probably will with coffee too. I just use some comet or ajax and a scrubby sponge to take it off. I thought about taking some big wood beads and putting them on the handles to make it easier to pick up when its hot. but they might break or burn. Either way i like my tea pot, and have made a whole lot of tea with it.
