However, the scents all smell like "book" now and despite my best efforts and memories of the smells, they were beginning to fade. All my kids love the book as well and enjoy scratching the stickers for tiny whiffs of the lingering scents. And then I found a new copy! I was so excited that it was still in print, and that the price was so low. I ordered a new copy for my kids to enjoy the actual scents with the story. The scents are apple pie, pine tree, gingerbread, peppermint, cocoa, and orange. All of them smell as good as I remember and they do make the book special. The story is also really cute and captures the excitement of getting ready for Christmas. The illustrations are pretty and the book has nice hard cover. The only difference I noticed was that the new copy has some glitter on the cover. My girls like this addition, but I don't really care either way. I love having the new copy of this, but I hung on to the old one for sentimental reasons. The "book" smell is another smell I associated with Christmas because of how much of a tradition this book became. Review: Sweet! - An adorable and fun book with scratch and sniff spots on every other page. Some of the scents are a bit vague but the story is cute and interesting enough on its own to make up for it. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #17,621 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #98 in Children's Christmas Books (Books) #106 in Children's Sense & Sensation Books #142 in Children's Bear Books (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 4,517 Reviews | ## Images ![The Sweet Smell of Christmas: A Christmas Scratch and Sniff Book for Kids (Scented Storybook) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91fSKODDLEL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Media Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Favorite Christmas book *by P***H on January 28, 2016* I had a copy of this book as a child and still have it after all these years. Some of the scents are a bit vague but the story is cute and interesting enough on its own to make up for it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A MUST HAVE holiday book in our family, passed down for 3 generations, hopefully more! *by H***E on October 16, 2020* Highly recommend this book for children of all ages. A MUST HAVE in our family and passed down for 3 generations, hopefully more. This is a book I had as a child, read to my children and now recently bought for my grandchild. It is a nice short story of a bear family getting ready for the Christmas holiday with scent stickers on some pages of smells typically associated with Christmas. It is well known that the more senses engaged in a memory, the more vivid the memory. Thus this book with the scents provide both a pleasant and familiar story that becomes nostalgic and well remembered. I have given this book to many children nieces, nephews and young friends of the family when they had children. The stickers on the 40+ year old book are worn out (sometimes i think i can faintly still smell them, though that may be just from memory or wishful thinking). Honestly I dont expect the scent to last to last 40+years, hence bought new ones for my youngest child-when Amazon was still new, and again recently [was super relieved it was still in print!]. I may contact the publishers though and see if i can get new scent stickers to replace them... Either way, HIGHLY recommend the Sweet Smell of Christmas! ## Frequently Bought Together - The Sweet Smell of Christmas: A Christmas Scratch and Sniff Book for Kids (Scented Storybook) - Bear Stays Up for Christmas (The Bear Books) - Little Red Sleigh: A Heartwarming Christmas Book For Children (Little Heroes, Big Hearts) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/3674210-the-sweet-smell-of-christmas-a-christmas-scratch-and-sniff](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/3674210-the-sweet-smell-of-christmas-a-christmas-scratch-and-sniff) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
