A: The plugs are long enough to fill the hole and be flush with the surrounding area.

**Q: Are these general tools "pocket hole plugs" made from Pine or Oak?**
A: If I had to guess, I'd say it is pine, but it is soft wood, very little grain, very easy to sand to fit.  Definitely NOT Oak or a hardwood unless you order such specifically.
