Review: JUNK - its a piece of junk honestly, the admin password that came with it doesnt work, and when i tried to install a new fresh software using thier method with a program called netinstall and then hold the reset button until it shows up on the program i just get an error messege and the device wont even go to its original state .. what device does not go to its original state with the reset button ? only piece of junk honestly..

**Q: Want to use opnsense, which, like pfsense, requires this hex's cpu (mt7621a) processor to support a feature called:  aes-ni.  does it work?**
A: No, this is a Microtik product, it runs RouterOS which will do everything pfSense does but with a different interface. You should check the hardware compatibility list on pfSense's site if you want that OS.

**Q: What kind of nat throughput can i expect?**
A: It really depends on the firewall rules you implement, how many address lists you have it sifting through, and what scripts you have it running but on the WAN side you shouldn't have any issues getting the most out of your internet connection. On the LAN side I've configured LACP and managed to get a solid 2G connection to a workstation so the user could transfer autocad files a little easier, it works surprisingly well for a little $70 gizmo.

**Q: Does this support link aggregation for 4 ports and the sfp port out to another switch? i have a motorola cable modem with 4 wan ports for gig speeds**
A: I'm late at answering this question but hear me out. The hex s router board can link aggregate all ports even the sfp port. OR you can even link aggregate ports in segments.. like 2 for this and 2 for that. I have mine set to link aggregate from the modem to the routerboard and the routerboard to a cisco sg200 switch.

**Q: Can this be used to connect multiple devices back to a comcast 3.0 cable modem to surf the internet simultaneously without wireless?**
A: Yes it can. It does not have WiFi - all connections are wired.  It also includes a good firewall.  Small box - lots of features.

Where do I start with this.... The hex s is an absolute power house, don't let its small form factor fool you...... The features of this router is well beyond every consumer router out there. Tho it is not for the faint of heart, I mean, you can plug and play and be on your way...... But going beyond that....steeeeep learning curve, but if that's your thing, like myself, I came into this thinking I knew a lot about networking.....nope..... Been an amazing learning tool, and the community is super helpful. Routeros on this is so customizable its insane, 1000% recommend!
