I just wore them in the Bone Frog Challenge at Berkshire East ski area this weekend. 5/21/2016 Many water obstacles with shoes on. The socks dropped the water as quickly as the shoes could get rid of the water. So they were comfortable but never dried out completely until the shoes came off after the race. **Q: Should I go with Large for size 11 shoe?** A: Given the size choices, yes I would go with large. **Q: what are they made of?** A: The MudGear trail running socks are made of a wicking synthetic blend that is 63% Nylon, 28% Polyester, and 9% Spandex **Q: For size 10, large? Medium?** A: For a Men's US size 10 shoe size, we recommend a size Large. That said, these socks have good stretch, so if you prefer a tight feel, the Medium should work for you as well since you are very close to the top of that size range. It was the second day and had been raining so there was plenty of puddles and mud. These rocks really helped to keep my feet warm and apparently dry (for the most part). However, since cycling is part of my rehab I decided to try them with my Northwave cycling shoes. I am VERY picky about socks so it means something when I say WOW. I live in south Texas and it's blazing hot and humid here, even in the early morning when I do my rides. Until I tried theses socks, I was coming home with soaked and sore feet just from sweating and chafing. I'm not going to say these socks kept my feet from sweating, but they DID wick the moisture away so my feet weren't being rubbed raw by the moisture buildup. I can also feel the breeze circulating through the mesh in my shoes, which feels great on these hot days. I only have 2 pairs just now but I'm about to order 2 more so I can rotate them more efficiently. These socks are also very comfy with my everyday sneakers and my hiking boots as well. I can't wait until my foot heals enough for me to zip around on the trails and really get these babies dirty.As far as washing - no special treatment needed. I toss them in with my cycling clothes or whatever else needs washing. I have worn them about a dozen times each and have not noticed any difference in the fit. I'll update my review once I've had the chance to use them on the trails.
