Great value for the money, the gyro makes it easy for anyone to learn to fly! IR controlled so it's indoor ONLY!
These little 3 channel helicopters are all made by the same company, and are just repaints of the Syma s107g. They are easy to fly, and quite a bit of fun for the beginning helicopter pilot. I fly them around my office from cubicle to cubicle to entertain/annoy some of my coworkers. The controls are IR NOT RC (RC = Radio Controlled), as this is not a radio control the RC title can be misleading. IR devices like this won't work in the sun so it's indoor only. That is ok, however because it is precise enough to enjoy in a small studio apartment while having enough range to fly around your local high school gym. I deducted one star because the battery on this model does not last as long as my other Syma heli's. I'm only getting about 2 min flight time out of this model.

so much fun, so easy, so cheap
i've had this for about a week now, and i play with it every day! and i'm an adult!i crashed it a few times, got it good too, but it's still holding up perfectly well.once i got used to the range of the controls it was game on!really digging it for what it is: a really fun, reliable toy for a mature person. children will tend to break them much quicker. the LEDs are awesome (i got a black one with red/blue LEDs. five-o) i also found upgradable parts online.i've owned 3 of these before, but all syma brand. my stupid friends broke them all. i thought i'd try a different brand, since it got top mentions in hobby forums. and it was $20.i gave 4 stars in educational value. i think it can teach a person good hand eye coordination, fine motor skills, a little physics depending on how you look at things and what you notice as you flyit , and a little self control... to not smash it into someone or something. he he he. however, a child should be supervised and when he's playing, don't try to teach him about whatever he's doing. just let him play.the bad (that you notice and complain about even though you know damn well you shouldn't cause it was so cheap):- not much resolution on the vertical joystick. its tough to keep it on one level, even in a large room. it either sinks slowly or climbs slowly. NOT AT ALL PROBLEMATIC just an observation and it doesn't really matter when you're flying about- come on, it was 20 bucks.- same for spin trim, it ever so slowly spins left or right. won't affect flight, you'll be changing direction too much to even notice. it was twenty bucks.

Once you fly a Helizone Firebird, you can never go back!
I've tested lot's of different indoor mini helicopters and I recently came across one that I cannot compare to any other I have flown, the Helizone Firebird. This indoor electric helicopter is ideal for any beginner who has never owned or flown an RC helicopter before. Most mini helicopters are hard to control. I could barely hover, much less control where the rc helicopter went. The Helizone Firebird has a built in gyro which locks the mini helicopter in place for easy control. The Helizone Firebird's throttle response is amazing. Because it is a 3 channel helicopter, you can actually fly them from point "a" to point "b" and even fly backwards too! What I find most impressive about the Helizone Firebird is that the body of the helicopter is made out of a metal alloy frame (which means that it is hard to break). One of my friends wanted to see how much the Helizone Firebird could take and flew the helicopter up into the air about 30-40ft and once the remote control lost it's frequency because of the distance, the Firebird dropped and landed in a tree. After many attempts to get the Firebird out of the tree with a basketball, it finally came crashing down. The Amazing thing was that though the Firebird had crashed, it still flew with such precision like it had not crashed multiple times. No one could tell or even believe that the helicopter had gone through so much abuse once they saw how great it flew.Other micro heli's need to learn a thing or two from the Firebird. Beware though, once you buy one you can never go back!

first rc helicopter and very pleased
After researching reviews on here and on the r/c forums, I decided to pick up two helicopters..this firebird and a syma s107..like has been mentioned ny a few other reviewers the two are identical however I knew that going in but wanted this color scheme so thats why I purchased it. It's my first rc helicopter and I must say im very pleased. It is very well built and doesnt feel like a flimsy toy..a quality hard to find in something this inexpensive. It flys great and hovers in place all on its own. Ive crashed a few times and not a mark on it..it is very durable. This is a great beginner helicopter in my opinion and even though its easy to hover it has still taken me several flights to feel comfortable buzzing around the house. The little bit of challenge makes it fun though. I have a much larger mjx 645 that is a 4 channel heli that just arrived but im still learning this 3 channel to get good before I move up..also ordered a v911 to learn how to fly a 4 channel before moving onto the bigger heli. Overall I would say if your looking at buying this just do it..wont find a better copter for such little money..plus it's lots of fun!
