Allows for quick and easy deployment of fish finder (depth finder) transducers. Removes the transducer from the trolling motor to prevent damage to cables due to pinch points on the trolling motor or winding of the wire on MinnKota iPilot and Motorguide XI5 trolling motors. Baseplate assembly includes a 4”x 4” sub plate which is mounted to the boat. The main plate is then secured to that sub plate by ΒΌ-20 thumb screws. Thus the baseplate can be removed when docked or trailered. Excellent for use with side imaging systems as you can scan forward of boat travel by turning the downrod 45 degrees. Taper cone ensures positive seating and prevents rotation of the shaft due to water friction. An optional keyway piece is included for those who wish to only drop the transducer in one orientation. Designed for boat movement speeds of 0-5mph. Pole storage clips provided to hold the downrod to the deck when moving. Downrod length to water adjustable by 10 inches. Downrod shaft is heavy wall aluminum tube (1” OD). Heavy duty components all marine grade. You will need 4 inches of that plate to go over the edge of the boat. 4 inches are needed to secure to the boat and that leaves 4 inches to span from the area where you will secure the screws to the edge of the boat. I had to make some modifications, but it works great now. The mount for my transducer was not perfect. One rod holder broke. I needed taller shims to clear gunnels properly. Fishing Specialties sent me what I needed at no charge. Operation is smooth. I drop my trolling motor and then I drop the transducer assembly. The motor is always a little deeper than the transducer. I fish in shallow water often so the motor protects the transducer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well made product *by B***S on February 10, 2014* Broke two transducer cables with a MK Terrova and needed a new solution to attach sonar up at the bow. Look forward to putting this to use after ice out.
