The light pulses are very bright, and I'm sure blinding in the dark. The light itself is very convenient because of it's size and brightness. To get to the Strobe feature you have to cycle through the two flashlight modes. This one comes close to being perfect at the time of review because so far it has stayed together, has not turned itself on, and is bright enough that I had to put some blue painters tape on it so I can control how bright it is (it always comes on at the brightest setting). The downside is that it is significantly heavier than flashlights that run on smaller batteries.
