The only criticism is they need a hook or something to hang on a bbq. Review: Great for camping - I bought these to use on outings when I grill over a campfire. These tongs are long, sturdy and cheap. Long to keep my hands away from the heat. Sturdy to withstand heavy use and abuse. Cheap because equipment tends to get lost and broken during camping trips. They also don't have any rubber, plastic, or wood on them that could be damaged if they accidentally get dropped into a fire. I own a set of the 17-inch Rösle tongs but I don't want to take them camping because they cost over 5 times as much as the 16-inch Winco tongs. The Winco tongs are a decent alternative for camping. They have the same usable length because the length of the Rösle includes the hanging loop. The Winco and Rösle tongs are comparable in strength as they use the same thickness of stainless steel. However, the Rösle tongs are more comfortable to hold, and they have a lock to keep them closed. The main downside of the Winco UT-16HT tongs is that they don't have a lock to keep them closed. Winco makes the "heavy duty" UTLK-16 with a lock, but they are not even close to the strength of the "extra heavyweight" UT-16HT. If you need the lock functionality, you should look at the Edlund 4416HDL, or more expensive tongs like the Rösle. ## Features - Item Category: Tong Utensil - Item Trademark: Winco - manufacturer: Winco ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B001CDTYX8 | | Best Sellers Rank | #152,503 in Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Kitchen ) #723 in Cooking Tongs | | Brand | Winco | | Brand Name | Winco | | Color | Stainless Steel | | Colour | Stainless Steel | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 2,192 Reviews | | Finish Types | Stainless Steel | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00812944002046 | | Included Components | Winco UT-16HT Coiled Spring Extra Heavyweight Stainless Steel Utility Tong, 16-Inch | | Is the item dishwasher safe? | Yes | | Item Dimensions L x W | 40.6L x 3.8W centimeters | | Item Highlight | Dishwasher safe, Heavy-duty, Scalloped edges, Great for Salads, Buffets and Catering | | Item Length | 16 Inches | | Item Type Name | Winco UT-16HT Coiled Spring Extra Heavyweight Stainless Steel Utility Tong, 16-Inch | | Item Weight | 0.01 Ounces | | Item weight | 0.01 Ounces | | Manufacturer | Winco USA | | Manufacturer Part Number | UT-16HT | | Material | Stainless Steel | | Material Type | Stainless Steel | | Model Number | UT-16HT | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product Style | Utility Tongs | | Product dimensions | 40.6L x 3.8W centimeters | | Style | Utility Tongs | | UPC | 812944002046 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Winco - **Colour:** Stainless Steel - **Material:** Stainless Steel - **Product dimensions:** 40.6L x 3.8W centimeters - **Style:** Utility Tongs ## Images ![Winco Coiled Spring Extra Heavyweight Stainless Steel Utility Tong, 16-Inch - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51ZX0IPakHL.jpg) ![Winco Coiled Spring Extra Heavyweight Stainless Steel Utility Tong, 16-Inch - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31zboqz8+pL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: dishwasher safe?** A: Yes, the stainless steel tongs are dishwasher safe. **Q: Weight in ounces?** A: Just weighed it..8 ounces. It doesn’t have a way to keep it closed for storage FYI. **Q: What grade of stainless steel are they?** A: Don't know that answer. Th3y were heavier than I expected. I have used the old lightweight ones since the 1970's and loved them, and hoped that was what they were. They were gifts. My son uses his. Daughter? **Q: "Winco is a US brand" thanks. But where is the item manufactured?** A: Mine are clearly labeled Made in India ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than any expensive brand!! *by F***D on 8 October 2018* They are by far the best ones I’ve used. They're nice and long so my hands don't catch on fire while using my charcoal grill. Very happy overall. Only thing, it would be nice if it had a way to keep it closed when not in use. ## Frequently Bought Together - Winco Coiled Spring Extra Heavyweight Stainless Steel Utility Tong, 16-Inch - Best BBQ Grill Brush Stainless Steel 18" Barbecue Cleaning Brush w/Wire Bristles & Soft Comfortable Handle - Perfect Cleaner & Scraper for Grill Cooking Grates - Mercer Culinary Hell's Handle Large Fish Turner/Spatula, 4 Inch x 9 Inch --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/370255624-winco-coiled-spring-extra-heavyweight-stainless-steel-utility-tong-16](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/370255624-winco-coiled-spring-extra-heavyweight-stainless-steel-utility-tong-16) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
