In my RV, I cut a vertical plywood panel flush to the aluminum frame that supports the panel The panel was projecting into the hallway, which was annoying. The aluminum is pained satin black. I applied the edge banding to the edge of the panel such that it overlaps over the aluminum slightly. Since the position of the banding was critical, I temporarily taped it in place, and removed the tape bit by bit as I heated the edge banding with an old iron. After heating each short section of the edge banding I pressed it with a cork block to ensure a strong even bond. When I was finished heating and pressing, I trimmed the exposed edge of the edge banding first with a utility knife, then a file. I was very careful with both the knife and the file. It all worked out really well. It looks good and the edge banding appears to be holding up well. The whole process was easier than I expected. They then sent me another roll of the edge banding and it is so much better than the first version of the product. It is very flexible, and is nearly impossible to break or crack by bending. This is definitely the product you want to use, very sticky and easy to work with. Just make sure that you receive the new version of the product, which is not brittle. Original Review: The so so: This product is okay for what it is. It has good adhesion, and arrived in good condition. The bad: This stuff is thin and brittle. I have never worked with banding so thin and brittle before.
