I had a bad problem with bed bugs. I tried lots of different things to get rid of them. One product I tried was this one. I did not find that it worked at all. I went so far as to trap some bed bugs in a plastic container. I liberally sprayed them with this product. It had mixed results. Some it seemed to "stop" immediately. Others seemed unaffected. The one that it stopped, I thought was dead. However, when I came back later, I found that the bug had revived and escaped! Besides it not killing the bugs, it does something counterproductive.It stirs them up and gets them moving around. Usually, they will pick a place and sorts of stay there. If they're disturbed, much, they will migrate and start infecting other areas. Take it from me, and my many months of suffering. Don't bother with all the sprays, powders, bed covers, etc. The only thing that really kills them is heat. I purchased a room sized bed bug heater and applied 138 degree heat to the room for a couple of days. That permanently ended my infestation. It was the only thing that worked. It was expensive, but I regained the ability to sleep and stopped worrying. **Q: is the spray as effective as the powder?** A: This product did not work for me neither did any other product until I laid out around one thousand bucks to purchase a bed bug heater. The heater was the only thing that did the trick. It has been around a year since I heat treated my room, and I have never had another problem. I tried lots of different things. The heat was all that worked. Using sprays and powders do not kill the the bugs, it just causes them to migrate, which could be disastrous if they spread from one room to others. **Q: Can this item be used on books, also? Thank-you!** A: The manufacture states: Apply to cracks and crevices around baseboards, floorboards, bed frames, wall hangings, headboards, furniture, door and window frames, millwork and walls. Apply as surface spray to carpet, mattresses, box springs, walls, bedding, floor, rugs, garments, luggage, closets, drapes and other window appointments. After treatment, allow sprayed articles and surfaces to dry thoroughly before using or replacing bedding. **Q: It says it can be used on "garments", but what types of garments? Sweaters? Slacks? Outer coat?** A: I don't know, I only used on my shoes and coats.
