Ammocanman is the man ! I received 4 unissued genuine US LC1 canteen covers. I wanted some used covers to throw on my Alice Rucksacks. I was expecting some beaters but received 4 really nice unused covers. All had snaps that were never used and the lettering was all crisp and legible. The US was clear along with the nomenclature and lot numbers on the back. The Alice clips were new not bent or showed signs of wear. The Felt lining was nice and fuzzy ready for soaking. This allows the canteen to cool through evaporation. The stitching was nice and tight no loose threads. I have some of the Korean made covers I bought years ago and did not like the workmanship. Since then I always make sure I buy genuine Mil issue. Thats what these are. I won't guarantee you will receive the same condition covers as I did but I scored. However they are in excellent or very good condition. I ordered 5 canteen covers, and upon inspection, 4 were good, and 1 had a broken snap. Which was too bad because the rest of the cover was in almost new condition. I sent Amazon an update, which they forwarded to Birds Eye Supply. 24 hrs.' later, Joe(seller) sent me a email to let me know a replacement was on its way, and to keep the defective cover, no questions. Just to let people know the price on these covers are fantastic, and the shipping for the $1.50 cover is $5.00 plus. So 'GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE', to Birds Eye Supply, and Amazon.So far any problem with a Amazon shipment has been quickly remedied, and fixed. This is quickly becoming my 'go-to' place. The broken snap is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.PS. The Alice clips on these are worth the $1.50 a set, as that is what some local outlets charge for a set.UPDATE: I received my replacement cover 12/26/13 from Birds Eye Supply, and it is in excellent condition. There is no wear at all(like new), the finish on the snaps show no wear. Compared to the $10 new made in USA canteen covers, I'd say these are twice as thick, and definitely twice as strong, and it makes the Rothco's look like a joke. One other difference is that the alice belt clips are thicker and of the traditional locking style, and they are spaced farther apart, so the canteen doesn't wobble side to side. It holds a canteen, canteen cup, and stove with ease. Overall, great product and the price can't be beat.
