It falls off the sides of WET surfaces. So, use a dry rock or dish and it words perfect. You can also just roll it in a log shape and drop it in the tank. I decided to get other opinions so I went to youtube and saw a product review by a big name in shrimp, so I watched. His shrimp were enthusiastic about this food. I decided to forget the reviews on Amazon and try it myself. I had the same response from my shrimp. They scuttled along the rim of the shrimp dish, where I smeared the food. It was only a few minute before both shrimp babies and their moms were all over it. It's also affordable.UPDATE: This product is kinda cool in that it is a "gummy" or tacky texture, where you smear it on anything like glass, decor like rocks, etc and it stays there until the shrimp begin feeding, then it begins to breakdown so that it tumbles down to the smaller shrimp that don't want to compete with larger ones. I put my plants in lab beakers in the tank and smear it along the rim... the bigger shrimp pounce on it and bits of it falls on to the substrate and the small ones eat it off the substrate, while adults perch up on the glass rim. When I bought this line of goods when there was a good deal, fed to my Orange shrimp for 2 weeks and The color on those babies definitely improved and they started breeding like crazy. I don’t know what it is but wowww. This particular food is messy and it won’t just stick to the wall and stay there like described it will constantly whither down like picking up a hand full of sand and letting it fall down slowly. It’s ok if you have a feeding fish or after about an hour vacuum the substrate with a turkey Baxter to get the sand like food that falls in between the gravel.
