I could not tell if there was one on the orange side or not.** A: I don't remember exactly how I assembled the heat sink to the M.2. I believe the orange pad was only sticky (1 peel-off) on one side. It makes sense on the underside of the M.2 because most of the heat is from the chip on the upper side. I'm not sure why it is necessary on both sides of the blue one either. I held the sandwich together tightly while I tightened the screws. It is also important to line up the pads on the M.2 carefully, so the M.2 fits properly in its connector slot, and you still have room to fit the hold-down screw or twist-lock device in the "tail" end. If I remember correctly, I put the tail end of the pads right up against the edge of half-moon cutout. **Q: I know this heatsink is compatible with sn850, but is it also compatible with the newer version sn850x? thank you.** A: Same form factor. Same fit. **Q: do you use all 3 heat pads (2 blue,1 red) for the 980 Pro?** A: Like in the video, I only used 2 of 3, the pink and the blue. the other one (If you look closely looks like it's pre-cut on little pieces), I save it for later. **Q: will this fit in a laptop, im using a dell inspiron 7245?** A: Hello, the heatsink perfectly work with M.2 2280 SSD, Samsung 850 EVO, 860 EVO, 960 EVO, 970 EVO, 950 PRO, 960 PRO, 970 PRO, 980 PRO,WD SN850 SN750 SN570, Firecuda 530, Crucial P2 Crucial P5 Plus, etc. The 2280 M.2 NVMe SSD heatsink helps to cool desktop PCs . You can check your ssd model in your laptop. ## Frequently Bought Together - M.2 PS5 SSD NVMe Heatsink for Samsung 990 980 Pro 970 EVO Plus SN570 SN750 SN850 Firecuda 530 NVME or SATA m2 2280 SSD Cooling Heatsink, Black - Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD 2TB, PCIe Gen 4x4, Gen 5x2 M.2 2280, Speeds Up-to 7,250 MB/s, Upgrade Storage for PC/Laptops, HMB Technology and Intelligent Turbowrite 2.0, (MZ-V9S2T0B/AM) - PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD Mounting Screws Kit for Asus Gigabyte ASRock Msi Motherboards, 30pcs --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/371586102-m-2-ps5-ssd-nvme-heatsink-for-samsung-990-980](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/371586102-m-2-ps5-ssd-nvme-heatsink-for-samsung-990-980) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
