But when you load bike onto a trailer, if you wedge the top of the device into the desired place, rest the bottom of device as close on the tyre to the final position as you can then lift the front wheel and roll the wheel backwards a few inches it will raise the suspension a little and snuggly fit into place. As it locks out your suspension, be careful how much tension you put on straps as you can crush the device, snapping in two or snapping the end off where it is contact with the tyre, which I did. No need to go bright red in the face pulling down on the ratchet strap.
