## Description

This set includes four one-gallon glass fermenting jugs with integrated handles for easy pouring and handling. Each jug comes with a number 6.5 rubber stopper, a two-piece airlock, and a black plastic lid. These jugs are ideal for fermenting beer, wine, kombucha, and other beverages in small batches. They are also excellent for preparing yeast starters, experimenting with fruit infusions, or holding sanitizer solution. Manufactured in the United States. Products are eligible for replacement under a 30-day policy if received damaged or defective.

Review: Nice jugs - I've been using these mostly for secondary fermentation of mead and cider. There's not much that you could do in making a jug to make that better or worse, but these are definitely a good value for getting them delivered to your doorstep. The airlock stopper can be hard to keep stuck into the jug if you try and put it in while things are wet, but after drying both the jug's neck and the stopper it has worked well. They're nice and sturdy; compared to an empty Carlo Rossi jug, these are clearly much thicker and better quality. I've pasteurized fresh pressed apple juice in them by putting a full bottle in a stock pot filled with boiling water (if you do this, make sure you have a trivet or something to raise the bottle off the bottom of the pot). Was able to get the juice up to temperature and then cap it with the included non-airlock caps. The neck of these jugs is also wide enough to fit the oak cubes that North Mountain Supply sells, so you can age your ferments on oak quite easily.
Review: Good quality, sturdy - Nice glass gallon size jars with screw in lids. My only drawback is the little handle is a bit smaller than I desire, but that's my personal choice. I use these for storing my home made distilled water. I also bought a long bottle brush for cleaning. I do like that they came with fermenting lids as well since I do make vinegars and like the choice of having the lids for future use.

**Q: What size blowoff tube would work with this? My airlocks are getting overflowed into during fermentation.**
A: How far up did you fill your jugs? Also, how much yeast did you add?

I used the airlocks here.

**Q: The bungs wont stay in place. They keep popping back up during fermentation. Am I doung something wrong or are they too big?**
A: You probably need to dry the stopper and the inside of the bung so there is good traction. This works for me.

**Q: why are these cheaper than just "water" gallon jugs??? Nothing looks different.**
A: I can't answer as to the why? I have over 15 of them and constantly have all of them in use. They are a quality product, heavy duty and durable, for glass. I have not had one fail. I highly recommend North Mountain's products. 👍👍

**Q: How it will be deliver the set of 4, in 4 individual cardboard boxes?**
A: One big box with a 4 way divider.

I've been using these mostly for secondary fermentation of mead and cider.
