Technical Details: • Frequency range: ◦ AMP-U25 : 400 – 480 MHz • Power supply: 13.8 VDC (±15%), 5.5 A maximum • Input RF power: 2 - 6W (±10%) • Output RF power: 20 - 40W • Size: 5.5-in D x 4.5-in. W x 1.4-in. H (40 mm D x 115 mm W x 36 mm H) • Net weight: 1.8 lbs. (800 g) The BTECH AMP-25 Series is designed to work with any BaoFeng or BTECH handheld transceivers, but it will also work with any handheld radio that outputs 2 W – 6 W with the appropriate cable. With the included Radio to Amplifier RF Cable, the amplifier will also work with Wouxun transceivers, some TYT transceivers, and some Kenwood transceivers. If the supplied cables do not connect to your radio, you will need to use adaptors or build cables with the appropriate connectors. Your BTECH AMP-25 amplifier does not include an antenna. It is very important to not transmit without an antenna or dummy load connected to the ANT connector on the rear panel of the amplifier. Transmitting without an antenna or dummy load may cause harm to the radio equipment. When choosing an antenna, make sure that it is suitable for the bands you plan on transmitting and receiving on. For example, if you plan on transmitting on 145MHz, make sure that the antenna you select has an SWR of 1.5:1 or less on that frequency. Using an antenna with an SWR greater than 1.5:1 could damage the amplifier. If you plan to use a magnetically-mounted (mag-mount) antennas, ensure that the antenna is grounded to a metal surface, such as a vehicle body. Magnetically-mounted antennas do not operate properly without a good ground.

Review: Great addition for amateur radio hobbyists - Haven’t had a chance to test the power output yet, but I bought all three bands. Thanks BTECH! Keeping the bands separate allows for frontend and backend filtering to be unique for each band, as an engineer I really appreciate this aspect. I will post again photo once I have the triplexer bandpass filtering attached to the backend of a stack of all three of these, this will allow UV 5 and the like with poor filtering to latch onto signals with higher gain from base station antennas (selectivity/rejection), and actually benefit from better antennas, with a much smaller amount of attenuation on the front to keep them from becoming overwhelmed lol. Note: all radios exhibit this to some degree and can benefit from additional filtering, even superhet frontend radios. **UPDATE all amplifiers tested fine for power, from 20/25w VHF (my radios have lower power there most do) to 70w on 444mhz UHF!. Anyone having issues and or blowing these is probably unlicensed because if you were you would know SWR being too high will do that to any gear, it’s pretty low for these (1.5 max in the manual) just test antennas and be careful the UT-72 Nagoya they recommend is 1.1 on UHF but 2.2 on VHF, so WILL damage the AMP V25. I will post again if I check these bad boys for spectral purity.

Haven’t had a chance to test the power output yet, but I bought all three bands. Thanks BTECH! Keeping the bands separate allows for frontend and backend filtering to be unique for each band, as an engineer I really appreciate this aspect. I will post again photo once I have the triplexer bandpass filtering attached to the backend of a stack of all three of these, this will allow UV 5 and the like with poor filtering to latch onto signals with higher gain from base station antennas (selectivity/rejection), and actually benefit from better antennas, with a much smaller amount of attenuation on the front to keep them from becoming overwhelmed lol.
