We always bought er308l wire. I had a small exhaust project here at the house, and didnt need a 40lb spool. Welds were ok. Not the nice smooth weld i was used to but satisfactory for the job. It was very position picky, which I found odd too. It welded better downhill then flat. Idk like unsaid it's been a bit since I welded stainless. It worked. And my buddy was happy with his exhaust and I guess that's all that matters.
