Review: Works as advertised and integrates perfectly with Alexa. - I bought these lights because I wanted Alexa compatible LED lights for my Bourbon cabinet. I really just selected them based upon desertcart reviews. Installation was relatively simple once I determined where to drill a hole in my cabinet for the power cord. The only reason that I went four starts on installation is because there is a solder connection rather than a cut connection every fourth or so sections; I had to cut and splice to make a fit on one section...but that is very minor. The lights work great. You can control them with the included switch, The Govee Home App, or Alexa. I mostly use Alexa for control, but the Govee Home App does have some additional features that Alexa does not. There are a lot of color options and effects that you can use, and they all worked flawlessly. I think I read some reviews where they said the adhesive wasn't strong enough. I find the adhesive to be plenty strong and I didn't need any additional glue to make it stick and keep it sticking. I did prep the surface with alcohol pads; so that may be the difference. There were very reasonably priced, and I will definitely purchase again. Highly recommended.

**Q: is the light strip one piece 50ft long? I want to put the power box at one end and not in the center**
A: LED Lights like this are sold in reels, for this it would be 2 25ft reels of LED lights, you can find adapters to connect two reels together on the same power box though.

**Q: I want to cut it.  where do I get additional power supplies?**
A: The strip remaining after cutting can only be connected back to the RGB strip, and cannot be directly connected to power supplies.

**Q: If you plug these into a switched outlet, will they come on when the switch is flipped or is the only way to turn them on/off is with the app?**
A: You can control it from the switched outlet and the app.

**Q: Can it be trimmed to fit the right size?**
A: It's possible to cut RGB strip light along the golden mark. 
Please note that if you cut it, the rest of the strip won't be working without electrical power, unless reconnected with 4-pin connectors(NOT included).

I bought these lights because I wanted Alexa compatible LED lights for my Bourbon cabinet. I really just selected them based upon Amazon reviews. I was looking for a replacement for my other LEDs that didn’t connect to my Alexa. The connection was easy to set up, I just needed to connect to the Govee app then select the brand in the Alexa app. I wish it came with a remote so I don’t need to open the app every time I want to change the color or turn it on and off. My one big issue is the strip get a lot dimmer as it goes. As you can see in the video, it’s very noticeable if the strips touch. If you are putting it in a straight line, it should be fine. If you’re putting it around your room, you might want to think about how you feel about it before purchasing. (video shows the lights around my room, rotating through all the colors, then focused on the beginning and end of the strip to show the brightness difference)
