If you use mason jars like I do for leftovers, fruit, or dry goods, these lids are a huge upgrade from the regular metal lids and rings. They’re made from durable plastic, they screw on really easily, and they create a nice tight seal so they’re great for the refrigerator. I liked them so much that I actually came back and bought a second set. If you use wide-mouth mason jars in your kitchen, these are definitely worth getting. They just make mason jars so much easier to use every day.

**Q: does the gasket comes off every time I open the lid?**
A: No the gasket remains inside the lid within a given area. This is not a two piece lid like traditional Mason Jar lids. The gasket can be removed for cleaning. That said I was not happy with these lids. They leak unless you tighten them down so much they become very difficult to remove; especially if a hot substance creates a vacuum.

**Q: where are these made?**
A: According to the packaging the company is in Canada and the tops are made in China.

**Q: Are they heat resistant?**
A: Yes silicone is safe -50 to 500

**Q: Can silicone seals be purchased separately?**
A: I bought normal metal inserts to use with these.

I plan to use my mason jars for overnight oats for work. These lids work perfectly and seem very good quality. I trust the brand this is my second purchase. I bought the all white lids previously. They do have a silicone ring on the lids for sealing be careful not to lose them when washing. Very easy to remove and very easy to put back.
