Review: For us it has been a miracle - UPDATE 7-17 Since starting this supplement my Mom has been healthy, happy, like herself again! She is on hospice from the hospital, they had said sorry, cant do any more. The hospice nurses are amazed in the change made by taking Kirkman... I made the mistake earlier this week to discontinue giving her the pills because she was so good. Now FOUR days later her UTI came back with a vengeance! She was babbling, wouldn't get up, talking nonsense which is what the elderly do with UTI's, and the smell... I immediately gave her one Kirkman and it is now about THREE HOURS later and she is sitting up almost normal!!!! I will not stop these again. I don't care why, how, or if... this supplement has been a miracle. Original review It has only been 2 doses of this supplement but if you have any health issues due to infection RUN don't walk to buy this! I am the 24x7 caregiver for my 94 year old Mom. It has been over 5 years now. She has had ups and downs but UTI's have plagued her. For three years we used another supplement that stopped working. The last 7 months have been rough. She just spent two visits for a week each in the hospital getting two of the strongest IV antibiotics in the last month. They told me the first week she had gone septic. After they released her and sent us home "because she was better" she was home for four days before I called for an ambulance. After the same regimen for a second week they stated there was "nothing more they could do" and said send her to rehab. I adamantly refused and demanded they release her to me immediately. I slept on the hospital floor those two weeks and never leave her. Ever. I will NEVER put her in a facility. She was still so sick. I made the difficult decision to agree to enter her into hospice. The crinkle noise in my ears when I swallow is almost gone. I took antibiotics, antibiotic eardrops, and OTC sinus pills. Nothing worked but this has! I have no idea if this will be your results. Review: Revisited - I have tried this twice now and both times got a violent reaction. I need some relief from constant UTI's that antibiotics can't cure. The reviews were so great so I really wanted it to work. Both times I tried, empty stomach. Two months in between attempts. Second time, within 3 hours I was nauseous, 4 hours I started vomiting. For the next two hours I vomited off and on, ended up with dry heaves, very painful. I know it probably is effective but evidently some of us can't take it. My loss. I revisited this product because of being desperate to get help. The UTI's persisted and I could no longer take the antibiotics. I went on the BioDefense but could not take it on an empty stomach. I had to put a little something in there before taking the pill. It made me able to tolerate it, I'm not sure how it affected the ability of it to work but the outcome was good. I took it in the morning. In the evening, with food, I took Oregano. I finished a whole bottle. The results are fantastic. I have not had a UTI in 7 months, before this I was getting them every couple of months. I also discovered another plus. I have suffered from h.Pylori and not been able to get rid of it even after multiple times with antibiotics. BioDefense helped me but I was just tested positive again. I think it is because the BioDefense peels away layers of the film and the h.Pylori repopulates. I haven't figured how to work this out yet but I think after the 2 weeks on the antibiotics I will go on BioDefense again and then try the Oregano again. I get very sick, nauseous all day long, with the h.Pylori so I am going to keep on until I can get it under control.

**Q: What is the difference between this and Interfase? im battling systemic candida**
A: Here are the components that each has that the other one does not:

InterFase: larger servings, chitosanase, lysozyme, EDTA

Biofilm Defence: nattokinase, alpha-galactosidase, xylanase, amylase, invertase, lipase

By and large, that's it. There are more sugar and fat enzymes in Biofilm Defense, and more fiber and mineral enzymes/agents in InterFase. I guess deciding depends on the type of biofilm, but both seem reasonably well put together.

**Q: How long did you take it for before seeing results? Thanks**
A: When I took it I got very sick the first time which I thought at first was a herxheimer reaction. However I got so ill I had to discontinue nearly immediately intending to restart after other issues were addressed. However I was contacted stating there was a recall on this & when I researched the recall had to do with a chemo drug contamination. While I wish I could give you better information, this experience left me not trusting the company at all. Taking this put me back in my healing possibly by as much as 6 months.

**Q: Will this break down biofilms in the bladder and urinary tract?**
A: Remember....oxalates can cause crystals in the body and can be in the bladder area and mimic bladder infections, so watch yourself for oxalate sensitivities, it could very well be that. As well as biofilm, just a thot for you all. :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Use Cautiously

I'm not a practitioner but I would strongly urge caution when using this product (or a similar one like Interfase Plus). Although it can break down biofilm, it can also clear your gut of mucus, which serves as a protective barrier against pathogens, toxins, acids, enzymes, etc. I was advised by my dietitian to take 1 capsule 2 times per day for 30 days. I did experience die-off symptoms within the first week, which was a clear indication that the product was working. However, throughout the treatment, I saw an abundance of mucus in my stool, and after 30 days, my GI tract burned and I experienced headaches nearly all the time. My guess is that the Biofilm Defense eliminated much of the mucus in my gut, which lead to some irritation, inflammation, and perhaps even damage to my intestinal lining. Now, our bodies produce about 10 liters of mucus per day and it increases production in response to injury, so I think I'll be okay. But I think it's clear this product should be used cautiously. According to Dr. Paul Anderson, most biofilm disruptors will do what they can (given the maturity of the pathogenic biofilms present - check him out to learn more) within the first few weeks of use. Again, my condition imroved only in the first week. Had I known then what I know now, I probably would have stopped there or shortly after.
