The smell out of the package is nice, joins are glued tight and smoothly, the Asian Buffalo (the true buffalo as opposed to the American Bison, which isn't) horn is glossy without rough areas to pull and catch my hair. Perfect for dividing hair for styling or treatments not involving extreme pH changes, long exposure to water (to the point that the wood or horn gets soaked) or heat (I suspect it's bonded with hide glue and a key feature of hide glue is that heat disassembles it).After a lifetime of short hair, as I've grown it long, I've discovered I have a lot of extremely fine, easily tangled hair so I just realized a wide tooth comb is generally safer for me. Some people with normal hair can use these routinely but I'm going to stick with already combed hair and treat these as styling tools.I'm concerned about traveling with natural products like these, even to their Point of origin; I'll pick up something ordinary before I go anywhere.
