I always use one standard pillow under the contour pillow. It's just more comfortable to me. This queen size pillow is the same size as a standard pillow. I start out sleeping on my back but often wake up on my side. I want to love this pillow but it's not contoured enough. Most contour pillows have the two bumps (I don't know the proper name), one bump that is higher than the other, but on this pillow the two bumps are almost even and not very high. I think a higher bump would fit the curve of my neck better. I have experienced some minor neck pain a few times when I slept on my side. This is probably because this pillow does not keep your head in proper alignment. Concerning the cooling, I can feel that the pillow is cool when I first put my head on the pillow but after that its gone. I am going to purchase another pillow that is made for back and side sleepers that keeps the neck in proper alignment and I will write a view for it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Pillow is ok *by C***B on Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2017* Bought this to replace a memory foam pillow of the same shape. This pillow tends to be a little hard compared to my former. Too bad that my former pillow is no longer made.
