## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are all these knives 100% made in Sweden? Are any made in China?**
A: These are definitely 100% made in Sweden. They are high quality laminated blades that are favored by greenwood workers through the western world.

**Q: Would this be any better for wood carving than the regular stainles steal morakniv?**
A: The longer blade gives you better leverage and I find the slightly slimmer handle better to work with. I carve ducks and have two of these knives. Well made and keep their sharpness!

**Q: I've read a lot of reviews that state issues with rust or bent blades and blades that chipped easily. Has this issue been resolved?**
A: Its not an issue on the knife's part, its an issue on the user. Those people were abusing and not taking care of their blades, that is the problem. The blade is very thin and if misused can be damaged, the band around the knife blade is steel and if you let water get in there and dont clean it it can rust. There is nothing wrong with the manufacturing. Mora made that knife exactly the way they intended too.

**Q: Which model is best for a beginner carver? The 2.4 inch or the 3 inch Morakniv?**
A: Depends on what your carving. The 106 which is the 3'' is perfect for spoons. The extra length is needed to do cuts across the back of the bowl of the spoon. If your unsure of what holds to use when using the knife, I recommend Swedish Carving Techniques, and Spon (by barn the spoon) The smaller 120 my daughter uses but shes 9.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're considering it, buy it
*by M***E on April 26, 2023*

I own a ton of knives. But I'd never considered how great the bevel on this would be for woodworking until it was recommended to me. It's a totally different tool.I'm sure there are fancier ones and cheaper ones. I wouldn't bother with either. Just buy this. If you're even looking at this, you'll love it.The blade is great out of the box and holds an edge well. It is so easy to hone freehand because of the huge bevel. I mostly just touch it up after longer sessions with a fine grit or just a strop. I only have had to really sharpen once because of a very abusive mistake against concrete. It is really comfortable in the hand. Like "you don't think about the tool while you use it" comfortable. Just an instant extension of the body.It complements chisels well for finer work and leaves a perfect tool mark free finish. I played with carving green wood and that was a blast. I imagine if you're into whittling or spoons it would be perfect. I've mostly used it on dry hard and soft woods for detail, tight curves, touching up chamfers, etc. It works well with and across the grain. The only downside is that the sheath is plastic. I'll probably replace that at some point, but it works fine and it's not like that was some kind of surprise. The sheath is still well made for what it is. I've never put it on my belt, though. I can't dock it for that. But a nicer sheath will be nice, because I'd like to have it near me whenever I'm working.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great knife for carving wood. Quality made.
*by C***. on December 31, 2014*

This is an excellent knife for wood carving. For the price, I don't see how you could do any better. I just got done carving a project for several hours and it performed wonderfully. The edge stayed very sharp throughout, with no need to strop. The blade came very sharp, there was a small wire edge in some areas of the cutting edge, but I don't mind that on a $20 knife. I stropped the knife and revitalized it to it's intended razor state. The grind of the blade is perfect for woodworking, as there is no relief edge, apart from the main grind. This allows for very precise cuts with very little unintended drift. The tip of this knife is very fine and perfect for detail work.My only cons for this knife are that the handle is a completely symmetrical tapered oval cylinder shape. Although this is ergonomically comfortable, there is no distinction on the handle which way you are supposed to hold for the cutting edge to be facing outwards. Although this may seem like common sense, The blade being almost a mirror polish, your eye does not always tell you the correct information when working on a project for several hours. There were several times that I picked the knife up and was about to press into a cut with the cutting edge against my thumb. Luckily, I realized my mistake before any injury. I will probably carve the handle and put some finger grooves and this will solve this problem. Also don't expect much from the sheath, it's just a cheap plastic sleeve that the knife sort of fits into, the belt carry tab is pretty much unusable. I removed it. Again, for the price I'm not really complaining. The sheath does it's job protecting the edge and nothing more.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mora says it all.
*by G***N on November 14, 2023*

This is a knife with a tang that passes through the handle to keep the blade secure and tight. The blade is 106mm, made of Mora's laminated steel (center of high-carbon very tough steel in a sandwich between 2 milder steel sides) that comes razor-sharp with a pointy tip for carving small features and with the Nordic-style edge that's easy to sharpen. This is a carving knife that COULD also be used for bush-craft, but you'll want to reserve it for fine and critical cutting, and use your OTHER knife for the rough-stuff.The handle is of the traditional oiled Birch and a bit small, but it's compact. I find that wrapping these smaller handles for a better grip makes the knife more useful and gives you better leverage for cutting.A great little knife, made the old-fashioned way, although the sheath is plastic, which holds the knife securely. You can really push the knife into the sheath and it will stay that way until you give it a twist to pull out the knife.Remember: Always cut away, NEVER towards yourself...!
