These shoes seemed to fit the bill. I was a little disappointed in them as they are not very wide in the strap across the instep. I do not have a very wide foot either. Also, the bottom on the shoe is all plastic, and the amount of noise these suckers make is concerning, especially walking across a tile or wood floor. You can hear me coming a mile away...do not like that. Dead between an 8.5 and a 9. So I'm always torn on what size to go with. I bought these in a 9 and I'm happy with that choice. The leather is soft and pliable and the fit pretty comfortable. A bit of extra room towards the heel but nothing to freak out about. I thought they would be a little more comfortable but they seem a little stiff.
