I am apprehensive when it come to buying something online that I’m not all that familiar with; having to rely on the seller descriptions which can be biased at best. This bowl, however, is everything that was advertised. Not some cheap electroplated bowl. It is heavy duty, stainless, and perfect for holding my shaving soap. Plenty of room to brush up a good lather and not too β€œloud” so my wife β€œallows” me to keep it on the vanity. The bowl I got doesn't appear to be metal, however...it's lighter weight, has no "clink" when you tap it, etc. It's almost like plastic painted with something to make it appear metallic, I'm not sure. But it's a lovely bowl, no flaws or defects as other reviewers have received, and the plus side to it not being real metal is that I was able to put it in the microwave along with the shave soap puck I needed to melt/liquify. So it works, and I have no complaints. I would probably even buy it again, since being able to microwave it keeps another dish clean.
