Review: Inexpensive compared to other options - There were a few similar products listed that were selling this stuff for almost double or triple the price for far less footage. This insulation is thick, workable, affordable, and got here pretty fast. It held up to propane torch heat with flame concentration without so much as a dark spot. So it passed my test. I used this to line my DIY stove pipe thimble in my shop, and boy was this overkill for that, considering I had also layered the inside with refractory cement under the insulation. Great stuff.
Review: Worked perfectly in my DIY furnace - Did a trashcan furnace to melt soda cans and this stuff worked perfectly - was easy to cut, stayed in place, didn't easily rip, held up to being bolted down (with a washer to keep the bolt from going straight through) and has handled in excess of 2100 F temperatures was I've melted copper in there. So if you want to keep heat in or protect something from heat, this stuff works great and is easy to work with.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Any opinions on how to best stick this to a brick fire box behind a gas insert? High temp silicone?**
A: Sodium Silicate (Water Glass) which is a High Temp glue and believe it's good to 2700 degrees. Water glass is usually available at lumber yards, home depot, lowes, etc. or you can make your own. Check it out on You Tube. I have made my own and very happy with it. You can also make your own refractory cement/ motor using this and sand.

**Q: Just making sure. 25 feet long and not 25 inches long? Comes in a roll if so ?**
A: It comes in a rather large box as a roll 24 inches wide and 25 feet long.

**Q: I have a Lennox country wood stove that has baffle board with baffle blanket (ceramic fiber blanket). I want to replace the blanket would this work?**
A: the product claims that it is rated for kilns,ovens so it sounds good in theory so long as it connects well and same thickness and all.insurance cos. and codes and stove mfr. recs. should also be taken into consideration. not a lawyer, just a mason

**Q: Will this product deteriorate if it gets wet?**

I purchased this product to insulate a foundry I was building designed to melt copper. The ceramic blanket has stood up to the stress impressively well. I would recommend coating it in something just to increase the lifespan and also keep ceramic fibers from getting into your lungs. Would absolutely buy again very much worth the money.
