## Overview

The AC Infinity SUNCORE A7 is a professional-grade, waterproof seedling heat mat designed to accelerate germination and improve plant propagation success. Featuring a fast-warming far-infrared film, it delivers even, gentle heat within an 80-87°F range, raising soil temperature up to 20°F above ambient. Built with durable IP-67 rated quad-layer PVC, it’s resistant to wear, water, and dust, and certified safe with UL and MET approvals. Sized at 48" x 20.75", it’s ideal for indoor gardening, hydroponics, and cloning, and comes with a water-resistant nylon bag for easy storage.

## Description

Product Description A seedling mat designed to improve germination success and accelerate your seeds’ growth process by emitting steady heat. Each mat is lined with an innovative far-infrared film that provides even heating distribution. Because it produces softer warmth output than wire coils, your seeds will be protected from being scorched. The seedling mat’s steady 80-87°F (27-31°C) temperature range heats the rooting area by up to 20°F above the ambient air temperature. It uses a durable quad-layer PVC that is resistant to wear and tear and is easy to clean and roll for storage. Includes a water-resistant nylon drawstring bag. Safety Certified This heating mat is UL-certified (E518635), achieving safety standards for electric heating appliances and electrically heated warming pads. It also meets MET standards (certificate #E115128) for electrical appliance safety, ensuring harm-free use in indoor heating applications. These certifications are verifiable through their respective online directories under AC Infinity Inc. The heating mat is additionally rated for fire resistance and safe temperature regulation. Achieving an IP-67 rating, the heating mat is sealed along its seams to keep water and dust from seeping in. This ingress protection is extended to the 60-inch power cord, its connection specially sealed to prevent electrical damage from occurring. Applications Best used for seed germination and propagation, this seedling mat is primarily set indoors (e.g., in basements and terrariums) to jumpstart the rooting stage. For best results, you may use a greenhouse dome over your seeds to provide humidity and supplement their sprouting. The seedling mat can also be used for home brewing and fermenting beverages, as well as heating pet enclosures for reptiles.

Review: Works well with no issues. Maintains a constituent temperature.
Review: I bought these in May of 2022 to help move along some pepper starts that just were not having much luck in my 70F basement seedling start station area. Without insulation or building a box for the seedling starts, this raised up the soil temps in both seedling start (1.5") trays and 4" starter pots from an average of 63-65F to about 80-82F. Paired with a BN-Link controller that allows me to fine tune the exact soil temp, I'm getting consistent 81.5F soil temps (cross-checked with digital thermometers and two Kinsa medical thermometers used during COVID-19). The caveats here are that in some of the mats I purchased, there is a dial that allows you to increase or decrease overall heat for the mat, and that's useful only if you aren't using a soil temp probe to get exact heat temps. The cords are long enough that I can use them. You CAN place steel or aluminum trays over these to provide a cleaner surface; I don't recommend it, because the additional thermal mass will take longer to heat up and more heat will be lost in an open system. I -highly- recommend using these on a flat wooden surface. If, like I do, you repurpose metal storage racks with grid shelving, you will want to add a flat piece of metal or water-resistant plywood for these to sit on rather than allow them to drape on the grid. They work better at reflecting and retaining heat with plywood than metal. I worried a bit about electric shorts, but realized that the wood simply won't get that hot, and if there is an issue, my GFCI surge protectors plugged into the power strip will handle it long before it becomes an issue. I have yet to try these in an insulated box, cabinet, or tent; my guess is that my soil temps could easily rise. Water hasn't been an issue at all. The mats wipe off instantly and even when a small pool has sat for a few days, it hasn't been a problem. Cleaning them? Just regular spray cleaner and water wipedown. I also used two of these in outdoor greenhouse/leantos during the spring and summer of 2022 as additional heat for pepper plants and tomatoes. They kept temps at the right heat levels to make it possible to grow habaneros and Ajio Limon in the fickle Seattle temp variations. Things that could be better: The cords are sufficiently long to use but it would make me much happier to have the cords start at the corner of the mat rather than the middle of one of the ends. They tend to curl up at the ends if they're unplugged for some time. Part of that is just the natural shrinkage of plastic and metal when it's colder; still, the design could be improved a little. All in all, a solid heating mat for the price and size. If it survives six years or more, I will count these well worth the money.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How much watts and amps does this pull?**
A: Watts (power) = Amps X Volts
Description says matt requires 105W in power/energy to operate
Common current in the US is 120V
Just Solve for X      W= ? X 120   --->    W/V equals A
105W/120V =  .875A

**Q: Can you use a thermostat with this?**
A: So far out of four AC Infinity Suncore mats [2X 48x20] [2X 20x20] THREE mats overheat my seed trays. I've lost FIVE 72 cell trays all seeded. Puzzled by NO germination, I used a meat thermometer and the readings in three of the trays was 95-100*F and the fourth was 75*F. Either AC Infinity Suncore mats have zero quality control or the overall quality is POOR. Be aware these mats will bake your seeds killing the seed germ. If you have them use a probe thermostat.

**Q: What temperature is L M H?**
A: Put your seed tray under a grow light, preferably with a dome. Then lay a thermometer underneath the dome on top of the seed tray. Then turn the thermostat to medium; Wait for about 6 hours and see what the temp. is.In my case it was about 85 degrees ; I then turned the thermostat between low and medium and it went to 82 degrees.( I put a piece of insulation between the wood shelf and the seed mat.) My seed tray is in the basement; The air temp. is 67 degrees .So the mat raised the temp in the seed tray about 15 degrees. Now, I hope I have good germinating seeds.

**Q: Can this be hvac taped to the back of a terrarium for inside ambient heat?**
A: I would not that's not what it's for.
