Bought a Large and I am somewhere around a size 34 normally (though I measure 36 or so?) and these pants are big for me in the waist but snug else where. A medium would probably fit better but it's not unbearable, just annoying even with a belt. The fabric is like a stretchy thick denim that feels soft and comfortable and while it'll easily tear in a slide it's better than regular cloth or denim pants - better than I expected. The knee pads are thick and feel like decent quality and I trust they would save my knees and are easy to slip in and out while wearing the pants - which I have worn during numerous times working as a courier after my ride to work. I can't comment on the hip pads as I haven't used them. Overall I like the quality and feel of these pants, the thickness, comfortable despite being snug.
