It is perfect for my Beretta Tomcat .32 not sure how comfy a larger firearm would be for ankle carry but that is a personal preference. I don't have a S&W but I tried a Taurus PT 111 with laser mounted and it fits. Hope this helps. **Q: wil this work with a ruger lcp with lazer** A: It should work fine. The pocket that accepts the firearm is not form fit so it should fit with the laser. **Q: Will it fix an XDS 4 inch ?** A: I would not recommend doing that, nor would I recommend this holster. I bought it because the price was right and I've always thought it'd be nice to not be limited to only one place to carry. The quality of this holster seems really nice so far. The material feels durable and the added soft material put on the inside just under where my pistol rides is a really nice touch. I honestly will not be putting this to much use as my pistol (XD subcompact .40) feels a little too big and heavy on my ankle. Maybe this means I need to buy another smaller lighter CC pistol :) I think it'd be perfect for an LC9, S&W bodyguard or other pistols in that size range. I will update this review when I get a smaller gun to try it with.
