Review: Nice product. No issues - I’ve bought these numerous times. Accurate over the years with no failures. My go to meters for monitoring generator loads.
Review: Monitor AMP generator draw - These CT work great to monitor generator AMP draw . I set it up to monitor each leg separate. Works flawless , but great detail must be given for a secured proper install. I wasn’t able to get this CT to monitor both legs at once, but this setup actually provides more detail about power demand while using. I added a second electrical box on top to setup and install the CTs and gauge displays. Secured CTs with pvc straps and JB weld marine goo. They work flawless !!! Inexpensive and great quality! I’ll try and update after a few months use.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be installed at a breaker box on a 200amp main breaker?**
A: Yes, sort of. You will need 2 meters with their respective current transformers (those black donuts). One donut for each of the main power wires coming from the meter. Since these donuts aren’t split, you will need to disconnect the cables while still live, unless you remove the power meter. Total power used is the sum of the meters. Basically, you will need an electrician. Or you could by the MTP 3100 or equivalent. It comes with 2 current transformers that are split, so that you open them, slide on the cable, and then close them around the cables. No cutting or disconnecting power. The current transformers are connected to a wireless transmitter that transmits to the base station which sums up the power consumed/cost per hour based on your kWh rate and weekly consumption graph from the 120V and 240V loads instantaneously. There is also a cable and software to connect to your PC.

**Q: Power source? Does this run off the power of the circuit being tested or does it need a separate power source? Is it "self powered"?**
A: It probably can but if you look at the images posted by the seller, it has a wiring diagram that says "Use isolated power source" for the meter's function.  Probably because the meter measures 0-90VDC but is only able to handle a 0-30VDC power source.  
  The last image has a very clear wiring diagram that's easy to red and understand from there on out though.  Good luck.

**Q: I need this meter to measure ac volts and dc volts thanks**
A: No - it only does AC volts and amps.  You likely need 2 individual meters.

**Q: The paperwork doesn't show the cutout size. Does anyone know how big the hole needs to be?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works on Small Heat Load

Used in conjunction with SCR Power supply for a small heating load. The amperage was too small to read accurately at 2 amps. I looped the output conductor 10 times through the CT providing a reading of 22 for 2.2 amps. Works perfectly
