After drinking Spirutein nearly every morning for ten years, I had given up on Spirutein after the switch to Stevia. When I heard they had changed the formula back, I started using the product again. My most recent five-pound container (purchased in October) smells like cake batter and tastes like fake sugar. That fake taste lingers, and now everything else I taste (including my water) tastes sweet. I enjoyed this product because it tasted natural. This was my final straw. I have wasted too much money on product that no longer feels healthy. **Q: Is it true that Spiru-Tein has switched to stevia?** A: Yes, unfortunately this is absolutely true. It's unfortunate because it has ruined the product. It leaves a nasty aspartame aftertaste that I just can't handle. Returning my 3 cans. This was one of meals everyday since the late 90s. Now I have to figure something else out I guess. I suggested that Natures Plus make a Spirutein Classic. They'll notice that their sales drop immediately from this change and probably change back. I wrote the company directly to inquire about the change. **Q: Does this contain any dairy?** A: It does not contain dairy. **Q: This doesn't mix well at all, I'm always straining it. What am I doing wrong?** A: I use a Magic Bullet mini blender and it turns the protein powder and whatever liquid (I use almond milk) into a milkshake-like consistency. I've done it this way since I started drinking Spiru-Tein (which I love) and have never had a problem with lumps or needed to strain it. Any blender, large or small, would do the trick.
