There is a small space in the middle for the mice. Usually their tails or ears stick out. Pulling them out and pushing them in helps with finger strength. **Q: Is this a toxic material?** A: No but it could be a choking hazard for small children. **Q: I see the dimensions for this...what is the .8 referring to ?** A: I don't know what those dimensions refer to (just looked at them). The cheese is about 2 or 2.5 inches as a cube. The mice bodies are about half the length on my index finger. **Q: What is it made out of?** A: It seems to be a stretchy rubber-silicone type material (not medical-grade silicone though). There is a bit of pink paint/coating on the mice (ears and tails) that will eventually peel off if used frequently, but the cheese is solid yellow so it won't peel at all.
