It works fast and it works thoroughly, with very little effort. While i do feel a very tolerable warming sensation on my sensitive skin, it is far from anything close to 'burning'. Maybe others applied it to an open wound?? That's not what it's for. I'm not sure what you mean by 'regular arnica gel'. the only other product I tried was Boiron Arnica Gel, which worked, but not near as well and quickly. I hope this helps. **Q: Can this be used on bruising/swelling of lips?** A: I use it for clearing up/diminishing bruises (I have very sensitive skin).
