The broken wood doesn't show from the outside and I will get some furniture color to go over the scratches. I kept it because the problems were minor. The same cabinet is selling for a little less than twice as much (on sale) at a local store. I'm happy with the price and love my cabinet! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good for $280 *by K***A on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on November 12, 2022* Was able to get this one sale for $280, feels like a really good value. Was looking for something to store my vinyl records while partially hiding them from view, and this fit the bill.The material is definitely better than the cheap particleboard or painted MDF typically in <$200 knockdown furniture. The material is denser than particleboard with decent looking grain on it, I don't think (?) it's MDF either as the screws dug in pretty snugly. It's a little on the soft side, so be careful not to drop or abuse it, and use a soft mallet if you need to tap it during assembly. The back shear panel looks to be a thin piece of plywood rather than cardboard - they did have major bows to them, but once screwed in it's not so bad.The only tricky part of assembly was when attaching the top panel, the dowels wouldn't align easily, so had to loosen some of the cam fittings on the side panels to allow enough slop to get things to fit. Tightened things back up and all was good. The doors had enough adjustment to allow for decent alignment and smooth operation.The doors come with the window panels captured (I think they are a plexi and not glass), so no screwing them in which tends to look cheap and come loose over time.Worst part was the adhesive stickers for marking each part and their assembly orientation. The residue is pretty tenacious so I had to wet and scrub to get most of it off, thankfully the discoloration it leaves is in places you won't see very often. One part came slightly damaged, but was easy to repair and of little consequence. A nice plus was that it includes a lot of extra assembly hardware.I used wood glue on the dowels, even though the instructions don't suggest it, so hopefully it holds up well in the long run. Very happy with my purchase so far... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, solid piece of furniture. *by G***L on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on July 15, 2018* PLEASE NOTE: This review applies to all four pieces of furniture we purchased. This storage cabinet was an easier piece with less "issues" than two of the others we bought and put together. Ok...read on.First, this is fairly decent wood and material. There were some minor imperfections in the finish but I expected that with the "distressed" finish. The directions were OK but could use some improvement in identifying which is front, back, etc. Some pieces were marked left and right; but front and back would also be very helpful as I'll mention later. And packaging was really good; we didn't have any damage to any of the four pieces we purchased. From other reviews I read, I think we got lucky there.Now, on to the OK and some not so good stuff. My husband and I are pretty good at working together, following directions, and assembling things which need assembling. We purchased four pieces from Simpli Home. The first, an end table, went together like a breeze. Next, the coffee table was fairly simple but with two mishaps: we had a divider piece turned around, and the hardware provided was for a chest of drawers and not a coffee table. We were able to purchase the needed wooden dowels from a local hardware store and use most of the other provided hardware. Unfortunately, the knobs were incorrect so I'm waiting for their customer service to get back to me. Third came the storage cabinet which my husband assembled all by himself with no problems. Finally, this beast of an entertainment center. After hours of assembly by two fairly qualified persons, we have one jacked-up piece of furniture. We had to un-assemble it to turn around the middle section when we realized two pieces were backwards. After reassembly and putting the hardware on, we then realized the end sides were also facing the wrong way so the front doors on the ends can't be mounted; the hinges won't fit. Finally, the directions aren't clear which way the bottom shelf of the flip-down section needs to be mounted; it looks like the side with the beveled out indentation for the hinges goes face up; but when we tried to mount the flip-up door, it's way out of alignment. We're not going to bother taking the whole thing apart just to turn around the two end pieces so we're going to leave the ends open; we'll make it work. We're also going to take off the flip-down door and leave that open, too.
