Like most reviewers I don’t know how I was doing 45-60 minute swims 5 days/week without this miracle! It’s been on my list to purchase for awhile now and I’ve done my research (way more than anyone should) and compared countless options. What kept bringing me back were the reviews online, the in-person review I got from my buddy (his is now 2 years old and going strong) and that it works seemlessly with iTunes/my existing music library.Most comparatively priced swimming units had two major pitfalls: first, many reviews all seemed to say that it changed their lives BUT after 6 months to a year, suddenly the unit failed or began to be problematic, most indicated that the warranty replacement cured their issue but the turn around time was a bummer, that and the replacement units had the same 6-12 month lifespan. As I said my buddy swims with his underwater audio shuffle several times a week and after two years, no issues, that to me speaks volumes. Second, several comparatively priced swimming MP3 players were just as described... MP3 players. What does this mean to you (if you have an catalog full of music purchased from iTunes) you have to convert ANY and ALL of those songs to mp3 before they will upload to the swimming MP3 player. Sure this isn’t a deal breaker, but adding an extra process to life wasn’t what I was looking for. I know myself and in the beginning when I’m still excited, definitely, I would be willing to spend the time to convert the songs I wanted on a swimming playlist, but as time wears on, this extra process becomes and annoyance that you avoid, and before you know it the last 3 months of swims have been to the same handful of songs. With the iPod Shuffle you create whatever playlists you want and when you periodically plug in the shuffle to charge, it is just a matter of checking/unchecking boxes (playlists, artists etc). That to me sealed the deal even further.Lastly, the battery life of 15 hours is impressive, I can get through an entire Monday-Friday swim schedule and still know I have at least another full week of battery for when I forget to plug it over weekendBottom line - I’m ordering another one for my wife who is trying to get into swimming a couple of days a week for a change of pace ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lo uso para natación en la piscina. I need hip replacement surgery and I was unable to walk or ride my bike for exercise any longer. When I started, I could not swim a whole length without walking part of the way to catch my breath. I was determined however and with persistence and several swim lessons to improve my stroke, I slowly gained more stamina. By February I was swimming almost a quarter mile ( not quite). But I didn't really enjoy it. I'm used to listening to music while biking, walking, working out in general and swimming, to me, was kinda boring. My bf gave me a waterproof shuffle from underwater audio. It's awesome! I'm swimming 1/2 a mile now- it takes me 50 minutes. That's very slow for real swimmers but hey, works for me. The shuffle is easy to load with tunes, the ear buds that came with it, are really pretty good. I had to change the foam covers for the buds themselves to get the right fit but there's 3 pairs that come with it and so the right fit for your ear canal is probably one of the three. I truly love this device and can anticipate hitting a mile after I recover from surgery in September. I really enjoy my swims now. The battery lasts a long time before you need to recharge it. Be careful when you do however, I overcharged the battery- just plugged it in every night like I plug in my phone, not realizing that that was not the way to do it. I ended up returning my first shuffle soon after receiving it because it wouldn't hold a charge any more. Underwater audio honored the warranty and sent me a new one right away. Customer service was great. I swim every other day and haven't had any trouble with it at all. I love it and I'd purchase another one. It'll change your workouts.
