A: Recommended without reservations. 
Boil 3/4 cup water, add 1/4 cup oats. Simmer 5-7 minutes, stirring regularly. Try it with walnuts & raisins.

**Q: I am concerned about buying overly processed foods.  How have these quick oats been processed to make them "quick"?**
A: Quick cooking oats are cut into smaller pieces than the regular oatmeal (either steel cut or rolled). That means it takes less time for the heat and water to get all the way through the oats, so cooking is quicker.

**Q: What's the shelf life of these cans?**
A: sealed - two years

**Q: how to cook**
A: Pressure cook for 12 minutes in an electric pressure cooker. If yours has a timer, put in the oats and water at bedtime and set for the morning. Wake up to a hot pot of porridge! No standing, no stirring. There’s no evaporation in the pressure cooker so cut the proportion of water. 3 cups water to 1 cup of oats. Open the valve or allow to naturally decompress, either way will work.

I bought these as a gift for a senior citizen friend from church, who is practical, eats a healthy diet, and works out at the gym 4 days a week...and she's in her 80's! She had never had Irish oatmeal before and she LOVED this product. She's now a fan. My family and I have been eating McCann's Irish Oatmeal for decades. Quite tasty and hearty. Different than your average oatmeal brands. Better.
