The base finally quit on me a couple weeks ago. One of the charging pins broke. The pins seem to be spring-loaded, and one of the springs must have broken - so one pin no longer made contact with the charging ring on the mug.My Ember mug has become a true guilty pleasure. They’re stupidly expensive — but I do love mine. When my base finally failed I didn’t hesitate to buy a replacement.After making my purchase I wrote to Ember and asked if I could send them my old broken base so they could recycle it. Sadly, they don’t do that, they instead advised me to take it to an eWaste drop off. They also offered to send me a replacement base even though I’m sure I’m out of warranty.
