### ⭐ Threw away 3rd box

These are not good. First box my husband cooked like a black bean spaghetti we've gotten before and it turned into a pot of black goo. I told him he didn't follow the directions so I re-tried. They maintained shape but the texture is not pleasant,  kind of gummy or thick to chew. Threw away the 3rd box. We'll just stick to eating regular black beans.

They look great and keep their shape well despite lacking a binding ingredient (i.e. Gluten or egg) but... They have a very strong and strange after taste. Having bought black bean noodles (that lack the taste) from other companies that advertise the "only black beans! That's it!" ideal, I wonder either where these particular beans came from, or if the process used for making the pasta (washing soap? Something that is used but constitutes less than 1% of serving size?) adds the peculiar flavor.Be prepared to add a very strongly flavored sauce to cover it, though my Bolognese wasn't strong enough.

I tried it by itself and it does have an interesting flavor and texture. Maybe a little to interesting for me. I did a chicken bake and used this for the pasta part and it was wonderful. I would say for a first timer maybe use it in a pasta bake until you get used to working with it. The cooking directions on box made mine come out to soggy. So you need to tweak it until it comes out how you like it.
