Re-attach? not so good. *by J***Y on June 15, 2026* Bought this at my doctor's recommendation following hip replacement surgery. Started using it 2 1/2 weeks out after surgery when the real post-op outpatient physical therapy began. The tape stays stuck as long as my skin stays dry. It is not impervious to water so it loosens in the shower. I tried to dry it the first time but the adhesive kept sticking to my fingers and got the tape all tangled and messed up so I tossed it out and cut a new strip. It doesn't help that the scar is in a hard to reach spot. I really like that the tape prevents my clothing from rubbing the incision and cushions it from accidental bumps. I prefer to change it daily (yeah it costs more that way) so I can shower and keep the scar clean. The 1 inch tape is a little thin for the long ropey scar so I will try the 1.6 inch tape next time. I only plan on using the tape until the wound is no longer tender (about 90 days).
