I installed two on a late model Superduty snow plow truck... already had the Putco upper brake light bracket which I mounted the lights to .. I was totally unsatisfied with Putco's crappy half working lights.... Ford wanted $850 bucks for the two lamp kit, which I have on my newer truck and love it.... I now have virtually the same set up for much cheaper, I wired the two together and soldered and heat shrinked into my existing power cord before turning them on, they are synchronised and really bright!... You must turn on at the base first and then you can control the modes from the remote or power it on and off. I am not sure if there is a time out as I almost never use the remote. **Q: Does this light have memory to keep last pattern used when switch off?** A: Dear, the beacon light does not have a memory mode. **Q: The description says it is 'suitable for vehicles with 12 or 24 volt power outlets'. But I see no info for connecting to a 24 volt supply. Explain pls** A: I hooked this beacon up to my golf cart that has six 6 volt batteries. I took the two power wires from the beacon and touched them across two 6 volt batteries (12volts) and the beacon worked.
