I have 20+ wireless devices; an xbox, Dish network, and PCs plugged into the built-in gigabit switch, etc. All devices are sharing the internet and some devices are connecting peer-to-peer for on-LAN gaming/etc. My previous single-core Cisco router was getting overwhelmed with the traffic and producing less-than-optimal bandwidth. This dual-core 1ghz router is handling it all and providing maximum throughput. I'm just using the stock TMobile bios that came on it (didn't re-flash to ASUS) which seems very feature-rich and doesn't appear to have any tmobile-specific limitations. You can setup VPNs, usage restrictions by hour, shared storage, isolation mode, etc. Streaming movies and downloading xbox games now function at near my max internet bandwidth (I was only getting half before) and the "lag" of online games (latency) has improved noticeably according to my kids. The unit I received was brand new sealed, so I'm not certain why the other reviewers are saying it is used. Mine came from "trulythebest" and was fulfilled by Amazon. And, I now have strong signal throughout my entire 2000sqft house. We use it for making cell phone calls over internet. I love the setup on this router. Easy to configure and versatile. I have recently purchased 2 of these from Amazon to extend our Wifi signal to all of the house and garage. Excellent quality and longevity.My experience with other wifi routers has been that they normally only last a few years, then they die. I have gone through many routers over the years. This router internally is the exact same hardware ... *by J***N on February 7, 2017* A $155 router for only $82, whats not to love.This router internally is the exact same hardware as the AC68U.This router will work perfectly well for the average user regardless if they use the t-mobile wifi calling or not.I have seen many people drop big money on routers to find out they paid an extra $100 for feauters they cant use. If you dont have 10+ devices on 5ghz then tri-band is irrelevenat, and most wifi chips in laptops and phones dont have MU-MIMO and have at best 866mbps speed chps.These AC1900 routers of ASUS have great range, dual core cpu, a better UI then many other firmwares and can handle a lot of devices (I have over 30 wired and wireless devices on my home router).The stock t-mobile firmware is a little restrictive vs the stock ASUS and does not upgrade as often. For the normal user this will in no way be an issue.
