I have 2 three years male dogs who,though different breeds, are almost identical in all dimensions. On separate leads,they twist around me on walks. With the coupler, now that they are accustomed to it,that does not happen. I learned that while walking them, if needed, I can disconnectone of the dogs and use the coupler as a leash leaving the other dog on the main leash.I found the coupler works best with 2 dogs of very similar size and weight.
