Veteran company? Don’t tell me it’s made in China!!** A: Coletti is a veteran-owned and operated small business based you of Spokane Washington. Our coffee beans are roasted by our friends at City Market Coffee Roasters in Kansas City. Our coffee makers are designed by us in the United States and made by our excellent team in Jiangmen City, China. We hope to move production and/or assembly to the USA one day, but it is not currently financially feasible. **Q: Can the water be heated directly in this press or do I still need another separate container to heat the water?** A: This is a great question. In this regard, the Boulder functions as all other French Press. Moreover, in order to make the Boulder able to retain heat for 4+ hours we made the bottom double-wall vacuum sealed as well. Our engineers are saying that direct heat might compromise its ability to insulate over time. But because of this question we will put it to the test. **Q: Is it double filtered?** A: Has two filter screens, not one. I do not get the same amount of gunk as I used too. Instructions are printed on outside of box. Lid can be turned to a closed position to help keep contents hot. It is always worth it to invest in good quality products. This feels good, looks great, and makes outstanding coffee. I usually stick with drip coffee because I drink a large volume, but this is convincing me to switch over to French press. This thing keeps coffee hot for many hours, is easy to use, and is just a total joy. I've used the glass presses before and get annoyed at how often grounds wind up above the filter. This fits tighter and if you can deal with the slightly annoying sound of the metal scraping (I'll do anything for a cup of really good coffee!), you'll be super happy with this product. I had bought a percolator from these guys and found it to be wonderful (though I don't like the grounds that come out without using a filter) and wanted to try this too. I don't know which I'll bring camping next time, but probably the press, maybe both. They take a lot of pride in their products and I'll be on the lookout for what they do next. This one feels like something that will last for decades.
