The Monterey futon features a classic hardwood frame with Mission style arms. This unique and versatile full-size futon sofa easily converts to a bed. This multifunctional piece of furniture can find a home in just about any type of room. Maximum distributed weight: 500 pounds.

Review: Great Quality and Instructions - First off, the frame looks almost exactly like the picture, which is always good. It is very solid and while I can't tell what wood it's made from, it's obviously real. The hardware is also amazing. All the screws tighten into pre-installed metal nuts or into slotted barrel nuts. These additions make the frame sturdier while also reducing the chance of splitting the wood. While sleeping on it, it makes some creaking sounds (which I actually enjoy) but nothing out of the ordinary. It doesn't move when I shift which. The other thing I wanted to mention was that this had the best assembly instructions I've ever seen. Not only was everything labeled with numbers that were tracked in the instructions and also on removable stickers on the pieces, but it was COLOR CODED! You can still make some mistakes, but they really went above and beyond in trying to make this as easy to assemble as possible. Some important things to note: 1. You NEED two people at least to build this. You can do most of it with one person but there are a couple steps that absolutely require two people. Three people would be even easier. 2. When it says to leave all the screws loose before inserting the seating/sleeping section into the legs/frame, DO IT! If they aren't super loose, it will not fit, and you could accidentally break it. 3. Don't forget to install the metal brackets under the legs. I almost did and I was so happy to see even more care put into the product by including more hardware for extra support and durability. Overall, I am super happy with my purchase. It's beautiful, sturdy, and the instructions were amazing.
Review: Easy install, amazing futon. - This was the easiest furniture install I’ve done. Parts and instructions were organized perfectly. The instructions and online install video made it incredibly easy to set up. The futon looks great, the mattress is very comfy, and the drawers work well. It is a bit difficult to fold back into a chair, but I’m guessing that will get easier with time. I might add a pull strap to the top to make it easier (strap would be easily hidden).

This was the easiest furniture install I’ve done. Parts and instructions were organized perfectly. The instructions and online install video made it incredibly easy to set up. The futon looks great, the mattress is very comfy, and the drawers work well. It is a bit difficult to fold back into a chair, but I’m guessing that will get easier with time. I might add a pull strap to the top to make it easier (strap would be easily hidden).

I got my second box today and decided to start building! It took a couple hours but the instructions were clear. There was an available video but I did not use it. I do want to talk about Kodiak. This is my first time purchasing from them, but wow what a team! While I was opening my boxes I was checking all the parts. And I was missing some. I didn't need them to finish the frame, they are 4 little covers for the screws. But I did email them anyways, and they replied so fast! And they immediately sent the parts I want. I got a tracking number before I even finished. The futon frame itself is really nice. I love the espresso color, it seems strong but I did also tell the household to please not drop yourself into it like a couch, I don't want to take that risk and find out what could happen. I didn't buy the futon itself from Kodiak, I bought a very thick full size corduroy futon. It looks great, I love it. Thank you Kodiak for the great product and the fantastic customer service!
