I have one in my vanity and one in my travel bag, and they are a nice size, work well, and the light is well positioned. I also bought another one that has a magnifying glass, but that one's light isn't as directed, so I choose these over that. The light on these is better directed to the ripper, and you can easily see the threads. I use these to take tags out of clothes, and the light makes it easy to see black thread on a black fabric, and since I've started using these, I haven't made any accidental holes in my clothes.
