I have ghost shrimp in with my baby betta and they get along after adjusting to each other. The shrimp tap the beta with their antenna to shoo him away. Now they all respect each other's space. The filter is a little strong so I put FilterPlus Bio-Media Aquarium Filter (small aquarium pebbles) in the filter tube and this cut the flow down perfectly. They all love it - they were moved from a 2.7 gallon aquarium. They have enough room for privacy and can interact when they want. I have a heater and a floating thermometer. With a few small live plants, marimo moss balls, betta hammocks ,small drift wood and two Silicone Aquarium Sea Anemone Plants (betta loves to swim through it and the shrimp bite and bounce on it-too funny). This is a refreshing, perfect size environment for everyone, including me.
