You can buy mica for resin casting or soap making. You would get more powder for cheaper that way. Look for chameleon color-changing, calographic, and iridescent mica for different effects. But this is nice because the mica comes in a little plastic container with clear top so I can see what's inside. And the powder comes with several dual-tipped sponge applicators. See picture. The results will not be the chrome effect desired. The powders work best with gel polish and gel top coat. **Q: What are the steps to apply this?** A: Make sure that your nails are really smooth. The polish underneath shouldn't have any bumps or streaks. (I had a lime green in underneath to make the green more noticeable). Wipe with a cloth. I used an eyeshadow sponge applicator to apply. Dip into powder and spread on to nail from bed to tip in a thin coat. A little goes a long way! Once the entire nail is covered to your liking, use the top coat of your choice. (YouTube videos are also incredibly helpful!) **Q: does this work in slime** A: I don't think it will work because this isn't a glitter it is a powder, you could try it and see if it works but you will need to mix it super well and you will need a lot of it. **Q: Can I put this under epoxy and resin for a wood project?** A: I bought this to paint onto molds before I pour black resin and it’s gorgeous!! Love how it comes out!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful chrome lasted at least 2.5 weeks *by L***A on April 26, 2025* This was my first time going my own gel manicure and my first time doing chrome. This was after 3 coats of the chrome and top coat but not because of the product, it was user error and inexperience. Also this video is after 2.5 weeks of this manicure. There’s only one little area on my thumb that peeled off. The chrome is beautiful and covered the black nail polish under. It looks different depending on the light. This video is it in natural sunlight. Some light it looks more teal, others more purple. The applicators it comes with aren’t great, they break apart but otherwise, great product.
