TOTALLY inaccurate. My old-fashioned thermometer read my temperature at 99.5F (I was sick), this "precise" instrument said 97.5F. It has a feature called "temperature offset", which is a MANUAL adjustment to one's reading if it's off. The range is +/- 3 deg. Celsius (equal to +/- 5.4 deg. F). This amounts to a range of INACCURACY of 6 deg. C (or 10.8 deg. F).And you have to do it every time the ambient temperature changes, e.g., if you go from a cool to a warm room. Utterly bizarre!
